Hyper Girl

It seems like dinosaur ages ago since I really go on a picnic. I managed to join in a simple impromptu picnic organised by my group of old time friends. The original plan was to check out Henderson Wave but we eventually decided to just go for a more relaxed picnic at the more peaceful Punggol beach. It's a 2 hour event and we literally do nothing there other than eating finger food and chat. For me, I can't help but shoot one of my friend's little girl, ZL. (good thing I've brought my camera along). I met her a few times over the past years during occasional gatherings (she's grown alot)...but she was so hyper and cute yesterday that I know I must get some shots of her. She was so eager to 'pose' as well.

Her mum also told me that she can't stand her girls nonsense sometimes. I've got a little taste of it from a short conversation with her...

ZL: You cannot lie to me or else your nose will grow very long like Pinnochio.

Me: Then elephants are bad liars.

ZL: No you stupid! Elephants can't talk!

Me: ....

Here are some pics... :)

Apparently, my little Ray didn't really enjoy the outing...

Had some free time this afternoon and decided to take a few snaps of Ray before the cameras head back to the drybox. Here are a few that I like. :)

Timely

I guess it's the heaven's calling for me to stop work when my work computer decided to stop working yesterday just when I'm about to continue some post production. That means the first thing when I resume work next week will be to try fix it up and continue with more post production.

With the work computer down, it also means I am able to spend a little more time today helping out in cleaning up the house and spending more time with family.

I've also tried to spring clean my laptop's hard drive a little and found that there are lots of pictures taken during family events and some random shots which were pretty much forgotten. It's a pity that we didn't print them out as I am pretty lazy to pick them out and send them for print. At the same time, I saw my dad trying very hard to use his pretty old camera phone to take some pics of Ray and failing to get good shots. I've always been wanting to get my dad (and myself) a good compact camera and what I saw today just tell me that today is the day. So an hour before renuion dinner, I rushed out to get a compact cam, a Panasonic LX3. There, I decided to just get a Canon Sylphy photo printer too so that it's easy for anyone at home to print the images (though not of the highest quality) before we procrastinate further. It costs quite a bit but I'm sure it's worthwhile.

It feels good to put some balance into life and I really would like to continue to upkeep this for the rest of the time. Maybe that's my new year resolution this year.

With the clock hitting 12 midnight now, I'll like to wish everyone here a great year and most importantly, good health! Also, thanks alot for reading thru this post too. :)

Warmest Regards

New Kid On The Blog

I was supposed to keep an eye on him while my wife go make milk for him. Decided to quickly make this shot before I pack my gears back into the drybox.

This statement will make my wife kill me..."Taking care of Ray is so easy, just drive him to and fro from infant care and take pictures of him everyday will do.". Haha.

Wishing everyone a good weekend! ;)

Suck thumb

There was a debate within my family on whether we should let Ray use the pacifier at all. The verdict is...no pacifier for him. That's what he'll have to make do with when his gums do get itchy.

Refund a baby

Spent a short 10min this morning to check out some blogs which I've not visited before while munching on my breakfast in office. Found this comic strip interesting from one of them. Somehow I feel that I've been 'refunding' my own baby too often to my wife. =p

Have a nice day. :)

101 funny faces to get this

ayWas preparing my cameras for tomorrow's shoot and my boy was lying just beside me. Decided to try get a couple of pics of him. Man...it's a challenge to make him laugh. Very glad that I've got this shot. Makes it worth making all the stupid faces infront of him for 10mins.

...it is true that your child's smile can take away all the stress you have...maybe till they start crying...haha.

Wishing everyone a good weekend! :)

Baby Ray

Yes! I've finally finished all the post processing of all the wedding images. Now a couple more albums and I'm through!

Our dear govt had recently announced the enhanced package for new babies. This news did made my wife and I a little upset at first for missing it since baby Ray came exactly a month before. Anyway, we've come to terms with it and we felt glad that he's a healthy baby afterall.

It's a pretty challenging day for me as my wife went out for some errands leaving me alone with my boy. Somehow he's a little cranky today and insists that someone is beside him. I just need to walk away for a moment and he'll start wailing. Resorted to pulling his bed beside my work table. Shucks. I hope he'll behave better soon as I can't work from home all the time.

Here's how he's like when he's creating havoc...

And the peaceful side of him...

By the way, my friend referred this video to me. It really works to calm my baby down. It might be useful for some of our couples turned parents too. Don't over use it though...I feel.

Here's the video:

Appreciation to my confinement lady

Ah Bee Auntie had been with us for the past month since my baby Ray was born. She had been such a great help to my wife and I who do not have the slightest idea on how to care for a new born. All the crappy jobs like bathing the baby to staying up through the long nights to coax baby Ray to sleep to clearing up his poo were handled by her. The great thing is, she had done them with lots of patience and care.

Her duty with us was done yesterday and we had to handle everything ourselves from now based on what she had taught us. It is not easy but I believe we can cope well in time to come.

We'll miss her presence not just as a helper but also as a good friend.

Thank you Auntie Ah Bee....

Infant Abuse - Not

No worries. We didn't abuse him. He's a little playful at the moment and we thought of just poking him a little....and this is what we got.

So sorry for the lack of blog updates from me lately. Life really changes after he came along and I'm trying hard to adjust to my new addition. Being a new daddy is really tough but fulfilling to speak.

I've actually lost a few man days to process images as he's been keeping me awake at night even though we have a confinement lady who's helping up. Guess it's bad being a light sleeper.

Meanwhile, it's back to lots of image processing again. Lily and Weida, hang in there, your images are almost ready. :)

Also, thank you for all the well wishes from fellow friends and couples over the past week! ;)

Will post more wedding pics soon.

Cheers!

A new kind of laundry in my household

I seldom meddle with laundry but for once today, I've decided to hang these laundry up with my wife.

Loads of baby clothes, new and old (passed down from relatives) were washed today. 4 bamboo poles taken up. Taking a break from hanging the laundry. Looks like I have to get used to this soon.

PS: The baby laundry liquid sure makes these little clothings smell nice. :)

Cheers!
